Why DropZone exists
The Australian letterbox drop industry is dominated by legacy operators with opaque pricing, suburb-level targeting at best, and a "phone for a quote, wait three days" booking experience. There is no self-service booking, no demographic targeting layer, and no national operator that abstracts across fulfilment providers.
DropZone is that layer. Customers draw or filter a target area on a map, get an instant quote with demographic-targeted household counts, pay online, ship their flyers, and get a completion report. Behind the scenes we route every job across two rails — Australia Post Unaddressed Mail and a network of local distribution businesses — choosing the best provider per job, invisibly.
Our principles
- One price, one timeline, one experience. Backend routing is invisible to you.
- Prefer local distributors. AusPost is the safety net that guarantees national coverage.
- Targeting is the moat. SA1-level ABS Census demographics, built in from day one.
- Honest UX about constraints. When Verified isn't available, or an area is partially covered, we show you why.
How we work with distributors
We are a booking platform, not a labour-hire operation. We engage distribution businesses — each with their own ABN, insurance and contractor relationships — never individual walkers. Customers prepay us at retail; we pay distributors at wholesale.
DropZone is a working name. This is a v1.5 launch build — demographic data is sourced from the ABS Census 2021 (CC BY).
